Recreation Ground

The Recreation Ground is located at the South East end of the village; the land having been donated to the village by the Carlile family, the last owners of the village. The area has a small car park and adjacent to it stands the Village Hall, which is available for hire.

The grass area is maintained by the Parish Council and is a perfect area for children to play. There are football goals and the area is used by local residents for social events, such as Boxing Day football matches, the ‘Wesley’ Cricket Tournament and a summer fete.

The Recreation Ground also has a well equipped children’s Playground which, thanks to local residents fund raising efforts, has seen the recent addition of a new Play Towers climbing frame and a new disability approved roundabout. With the interest of children and families in mind, Stoke Goldington Playground is registered as a charity. Local residents took the decision to do this so the provision of safe Playground facilities can continue into the future through maintenance and repair.

There is a secure Tennis Court at far end of the Recreation Ground. The court is also marked out for basketball and there are basketball nets.
